Barrier Splits Jerusalem
British troops spread barbed wire on a street in Jerusalem in an attempt to subdue communal violence and resistance to British rule. At an urban intersection, crowds stand on sidewalk behind barbed wire and troops occupy the street. A man yells to a woman standing on a balcony on the other side of the barrier. Shots show onlookers, many of them Hasidic Jews. Soldiers hand packages over the wire. A man sells eggs right next to the barrier.
