Just before the arrival of the automobile, city streets are clogged with horses, wagons, horse-drawn trolleys and pedestrians. A trolley marked "Broadway" passes by. A streetsweeper cleans up. A group of women rides bicycles. Two woman stop at a corner and mail a letter.
