America Retakes Manila

Several shots of Manila under siege, including aerials. Buildings burn and explode during shelling, and Filipino civilians flee burning Manila as American soldiers invade. Infantry and tanks move in, fighting in the streets with Japanese. A flame thrower is used. Injured men are carried to cover by other soldiers. Lots of explosions. Great shots of gunfire and artillery shelling exchanged between buildings in the city. Filipinos return to city by boat, carrying children through the wreckage. Closeups of sad children's faces. Narrated by Walter Cronkite.
