Screenwriters Defy HUAC Probe

Shot shows Hollywood Ten members sitting in Un-American Activities hearing room. Chairman Parnell Thomas bangs gavel. As photographers get shots, screenwriter Herbert Biberman angrily refuses to go along with committee agenda. Off-screen voices ask "Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist party." Writer John Howard Lawson gives a defiant response. A uniformed officer moves in to take him away.
